Na'ama Rose's life-long passion for dance began at an early age studying classical ballet. Her love and commitment for dance earned her a B.A. in dance from Barat College where her studies included ballet, pointe, character ballet, choreography, voice, and piano. She continued her study of dance at the Lou Conte Dance Studio in Chicago, and went on to perform professionally in numerous dance productions, industrials, musical theatre, and opera.

In 1996, Na'ama began to explore the world of Middle Eastern belly dance. The graceful charm and powerful dynamics were intriguing on both an artistic and technical level. Na'ama began her study of Egyptian belly dance with Jasmin Jahal and later went on to study with internationally acclaimed dancer & choreographer Leila Gamal and Egyptian dance master Yousry Sharif in New York. In the summer of 2006, Na'ama travelled to Egypt to study with world renowned instructor and choreographer Mahmoud Reda, and Egypt's queen of dance Farida Fahmy. She is one of the first group of dancers to receive a teaching certification in Egyptian belly dance from Egypt. Na'ama continues to study and enrich her knowledge and skills in the art of belly dance. She has had articles published in one of the top belly dance magazines "The Chronicles", and she stays abreast of all the current trends in belly dance. Na'ama is a staff columnist for the "Chronicles" magazine and writes a column called Mid-East Culinary Corner. Na'ama generously imparts all that she learns to her students and avid fans.

As a performer, Na'ama dances with the graceful sensuality of a ballet dancer. Her hipwork is clean and precise, and her undulations are mesmerizing. Na'ama captivates her audiences with an artistic fusion of technical purity and earthy expressionism. Her enigmatic stage presence and impeccable technique make her performaces spellbinding. She is a well-seasoned, riveting performer.

Na'ama has performed in numerous dance venues nationwide. Most recently, she won 3rd place in the Midwest Belly Dance Challenge Competition. In 2006, she appeared in the
Lyric Opera of Chicago's production of Salome. Na'ama also danced in the Where the Mid-East Meets the Mid-West "Aziza" Seminar/Show in Chicago, Little Egypt's "Raqia Hassan" Seminar/Show in California, and the Ahlan Cairo Nights in Dallas, Texas. She continues to perform at local Chicagoland haflas, as well as, at the Drum Circles hosted at the Na'ama Rose Dance Center. See Upcoming Events for upcoming performances.

As an instructor, Na'ama excels in teaching dance technique and choreography. Her articulate breakdown of dance steps combined with an energizing regimen of belly dance exercises allows the dancer to grow and excel. She encourages personal expression and development of individual style. Above all, Na'ama promotes a fun and supportive environment for women to learn and socialize in. Women of all ages, shapes and sizes are welcome.
